Words to the Wise: Mental Health

Close your eyes and think of an incident or an event that gave you maximum positive impact. Clearly visualize it, imagine it and make it more apparent. From so many thoughts pick one incident which gave you maximum positive effect. Now focus on the emotions that came out from that event.
For example: You feel joyful, thoughtful, excited, playful, full of energy, love etc. Feel these emotions, focus on them and make them stronger.
Don’t hesitate to smile, feel those positive emotions strongly and let them travel in your body. Feel that energy all around you. And with the same effect open your eyes.
Words to Wisdom Book and Lifestyle Club measure the subjective well-being which intended to work on the philosophy of an individual. It continues to rely on three well-being indicators: Life Evaluation, Positive Emotions and Negative Emotions.
If we see one at a time then Life Evaluation measures the Quality of Life. Quality of Life is the degree of excellence of the person’s state of existence and its activity. It further extends to 4 aspects of Life i.e Physical, Social, Mental and Emotional. If we measure the first three aspects of life, we can see that social, physical and mental aspects are more stable aspects of life. But emotional aspect depends on everyday life situations which is intertwined with the above three aspects.
And so does our mental health. Mental Health is a state of mental well-being that copes with stress and pressure of day to day life. It underpins our ability to handle scenarios and make decisions.
The session of Words to Wisdom Book and Lifestyle Club on 15th October 2023 forced us to think about strengthening ourselves mentally and finding the foundation from where it started. Many times we just talk about the problem but we forget where it started from.
And there we switch to positive effects and negative effects. Positive Effect is a degree of the effect of the incident that happened yesterday and you pull forward it today. Look how much positive effect it had today.
Negative Effect also contributes the same way, whatever happened yesterday does it affects you today also. How intense was the incident that you pulled forward for days?
The intention or the emotion that you put in helps you to build the effect of the situation. When you understand this particular occurrence of emotions you can handle any event well. It was a huge takeaway from this session which pushed us to think a lot about the aspects of our life.
